Neeraj Chopra is an Indian track and field athlete who specializes in javelin throw. He was born on December 24, 1997, in Khandra village, Panipat district, Haryana, India.
Neeraj Chopra’s interest in sports developed at a young age, and he began training in javelin throw when he was just nine years old. He quickly showed promise and won several medals at the national level as a junior athlete.
In 2016, He represented India at the South Asian Games and won a gold medal in the javelin throw event with a distance of 82.23 meters. The following year, he set a new national record with a throw of 86.48 meters at the Indian Grand Prix.
Neeraj Chopra’s breakthrough came at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, where he won a gold medal with a throw of 86.47 meters. He also won a gold medal at the Asian Games later that year, setting a new national record with a throw of 88.06 meters.
